Tara HRC real estate recruitment in Warsaw currently has an exciting position open with one of its clients for a “Financial Controller” for a leading European real estate development company in Poland.
FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Reports To: Group Financial Controller & Country Head
OVERVIEW:
A position as Financial Controller is available in the Polish division of a major, pan European Real Estate owner and developer.
The Polish division manages c. €220m of Real Estate assets and also owns a significant land bank for which it is actively seeking development opportunities.
Candidates must be high performing, with very strong finance and accounting experience, and a proven track record leading and organising a Finance department.
The Financial Controller will lead a team of two junior staff members so must also be able to manage and organise the Finance department as well as train and motivate junior staff.
In addition, the Financial Controller will be responsible for managing the outsourced service provider for basic Accounting and bookkeeping services so must be able to actively manage suppliers and monitor performance.
Fluent English reading and writing is essential.
Prior experience working in Finance in the Real Estate sector is highly desirable but not essential.
KEY DUTIES
Bookkeeping and accounting:
Responsible for ensuring correct bookkeeping and accounting for multiple entities, in accordance with local GAAP;
Responsible for managing outsourced service provider for basic Accounting and bookkeeping services;
Preparation of monthly reporting in line with Group reporting requirements through Group consolidation system;
Preparation of monthly variance analysis to Budget, and presentation to Corporate Finance team;
Ability to deal with FX issues arising from reporting in EUR;
Preparation of quarterly IFRS adjustment bookings;
Completion of reporting pack for annual consolidated Group IFRS accounts; and Preparation of all local statutory reporting requirements.
Cashflow management / treasury:
Responsibility for managing day to day cashflow, banking and treasury operations;
Monitoring of receivables to ensure issued invoices are paid regularly and to terms;
Approval and payment of supplier invoices and other liabilities; and Cashflow management
to ensure ability to make debt service payments.
Tax:
Management of outsourced provider of tax advisory services;
Ensure correct and timely filing and payment of taxes and levies including VAT, payroll tax, social security, corporate income tax returns and transaction tax; and Communication with tax and financial authorities.
Other:
Coordinate implementation of Property Management system;
Coordinate project to restructure existing corporate structure and rationalize number of SPVs in Polish business; and Support country management with business analysis for new developments and lease agreements.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualified accountant with minimum 3 years post qualification work experience in finance and accounting
Experience managing a Finance department and strong leadership and organizational capabilities;
Fluent English in spoken and written form;
Prior Real Estate sector experience is highly desirable;
Analytical thinking and strong skills in MS Excel,
Ability to work independently in a fluid, fast paced environment
